Complete Bespoke Seat Upgrade Across The Kop, Bradford City AFC
Stadium Support Services delivered bespoke, branded seating across the Kop, replacing the old, weathered plastics with a bold new CITY design. The project provides improved comfort, enhanced durability and a striking visual upgrade for Bradford supporters.
The Challenge
The old Kop seats had been in place since 2000, with many bolts heavily corroded and difficult to remove after years of use. To keep the project on track, the team used specialist methods, including grinders, to release the fixtures. Sustainability was also a priority, with all removed plastic seats sent for recycling rather than landfill.
The programme allowed just three and a half weeks, with supply, delivery and installation carefully coordinated to ensure completion ahead of the first home fixture against Middlesbrough.
Scope of Work
- Design: Work with the client to agree the seat design and CITY lettering layout

Supply: Liaise with suppliers to manufacture bespoke plastics for the project
- Removal: Remove existing damaged and broken seats across the lower Kop stand
- Recycling: Coordinate with recycling partners to ensure all seats are sustainably processed
- Installation: Fit new custom seating with precise numbering and finishing details
- Approval: Secure client sign-off following installation and final checks
The Solution
The project delivered a new seating layout, with bespoke plastics used to form CITY lettering across the lower Kop. The new seats improved comfort for supporters and created a clear visual identity for Bradford City.
All removed seats were processed through Recycle for Future, who turn old stadium seating into reusable plastic granules. This meant none of the waste went to landfill and supported a circular economy. The project combined quality installation with responsible disposal, improving the matchday experience while managing the environmental impact.
