QPR – Toilet Blocks
Reconfiguring of toilet blocks to maximise capacity
QPR engaged our services to develop plans for the reconfiguration of three restroom blocks. Our goal was to optimise the layout and increase the number of sinks, cubicles, urinals, and baby change facilities within the current space of these three areas.
Challenge
Similar to many stadiums, congestion often arises in restroom facilities. Through close collaboration with QPR, we conducted thorough surveys of all three toilet blocks. Our objective was to enhance capacity in these areas. With the projects needing to be delivered in the off-season. it meant that timelines were short to carry out the following scope of work:
South Africa Road Upper| male Toilets:
Block B
Total refurbishment including installation of; Anti-slip LVT flooring, waterless urinals, water-saving toilets, and bespoke corian trough vanity units with water-saving taps. The grid system ceiling was removed and cable management trays were installed. The ceiling was then painted black for an industrial feel, with suspended LED lighting added.
- + 1 extra cubicle
- + 3 extra taps
- + 8 extra urinals
- + 1 baby change
Lower Loft | Female Toilets:
Block L
Total refurbishment including installation of; Anti-slip LVT flooring, water-saving toilets, bespoke corian trough vanity units with water-saving taps, and large mirrored splashback. The grid system ceiling was removed and cable management trays were installed. The ceiling was then painted black for an industrial feel, with suspended LED lighting throughout.
- + 1 tap
- + 1 extended baby change cubicle
Lower Loft | Male Toilets:
Block L
Total refurbishment including installation of; Anti-slip LVT Flooring, waterless urinals, water-saving toilets, and bespoke Corian trough vanity units with water-saving taps. As this toilet block is based in the family zone, lower-height child-friendly sinks were installed along with more space given to toilet cubicles for parents to assist small children.
- + 2 extra cubicles
- + 2 extra taps
- + 1 baby change
- +DDA sink
Solution
Our skilled team effectively expanded capacity in three key areas, resulting in a total increase of 3 toilet cubicles, 8 urinals, and 5 handwashing stations within the existing toilet footprint.
In addition, we focused on sustainability by installing eco-friendly sanitaryware, hand dryers, and LED lighting, which led to reduced water and electricity usage. This approach resulted in new, efficient toilet facilities with a premium finish.
“Collaborating with Stadium Support Services to enhance capacity in our toilet facilities has been fantastic The improvements are set to enhance the fan experience by reducing pinch points and wait times. As always, the team were a pleasure to work with and we are extremely pleased with the final result.“
