Colour Faded Seat Restoration

Leicestershire County Cricket Club approached Stadium Support Services with a challenge. The FM team wanted to restore their faded orange stadium seats and transform them into a vibrant green shade.

The club sought an eco-friendly solution that would provide long-lasting results without damaging the playing surface or the seats. The team at Stadium Support Services carried out an initial demonstration that met all requirements and showcased impressive results to the team at Leicestershire County Cricket Club.

Challenge

The primary challenge of the project was restoring the seating and changing the colour from orange to green. It was important to avoid harmful chemicals or heat sources that could damage the seats or the playing surface. The club also wanted a solution that would protect the metalwork from rust and provide long-lasting results.

Solution

Stadium Support Services provided an eco-friendly solution using a three-part application system. The system effectively restored the seat colour without the need for heat treatment, blowtorching, or chemical dipping. It also coated the metalwork, protecting it from rust and providing a glossy and long-lasting finish. Additionally, Stadium Support Services offered the club a 3-year colour fade guarantee for added assurance.

The Result

The project was a great success, with Stadium Support Services transforming the stadium seating to a dazzling green. Leicestershire County Cricket Club was highly satisfied with the results and praised Stadium Support Services for their innovative and environmentally friendly approach. The improved appearance of the seating bowl would hugely enhance the fan experience, and the project showcased the company’s commitment to environmentally friendly solutions in seating restoration.

I am thrilled to introduce this innovative seat restoration system to the UK market. I have been personally involved in every aspect of this project and I am incredibly proud of the results we have achieved. This system has the potential to revolutionise the industry with its transformation capabilities. I am excited to see its positive environmental and financial impact on our UK customers, venue owners, and FMs.”.

Complete Pool Building Restoration & Build

In the aftermath of an arson attack, the swimming pool within The Imber Court Sports Club was severely damaged by fire and smoke, particularly the end section of the Nordic chalet-style wooden building.

The client engaged Stadium Support Services via their insurance broker to undertake the restoration works while taking advantage of the time the building would be closed to upgrade the changing facilities overall.

Challenge

Undertaking the restoration project posed a multitude of challenges, requiring a carefully orchestrated plan of action. One such challenge was the replacement of the severely damaged timber sections, which necessitated the procurement of specialised timber. To compound this, the supplier was required to mill the timber to the largest size they had ever created, adding to the complexity of the task. It would not be possible for the swimming pool to be drained, requiring the construction of bespoke scaffolding to bridge it and provide access to the damaged areas. This bespoke scaffolding required the expertise of our team of professionals to design and execute.

Adding to the intricacy of the project was the time constraint, with the restoration work needing to be carried out in a period that would not disrupt the operations of the sports club. The entire restoration project had to be completed within a tight three-week timeframe.

Solution

To address the challenges, Stadium Support Services ordered the required timber several weeks in advance to ensure its availability on-site when needed. An eight-metre-wide scaffold platform was constructed to bridge the swimming pool, which was then covered entirely with polythene to prevent sawdust and debris contamination of the water. The building was braced using multiple acro props to support the roof section while safely removing the end wall and installing a whole new section.

Results

The restoration project has resulted in a remarkable transformation of the damaged building. The end wall and roof section were completely restored with exceptional workmanship, ensuring that they will stand strong for years to come. The changing area was upgraded with advanced water-saving devices for showers and toilets, and energy-efficient LED lighting was installed throughout the building, making it more sustainable and eco-friendly.

Despite facing unique challenges posed by the fire and smoke damage, Stadium Support Services successfully delivered the project with great care and attention to detail. The restoration was carried out with minimal disruption to the sports club, ensuring that members could continue to use the facilities during the repair process.

The restoration work was completed within the set timeline, demonstrating the exceptional project management skills of Stadium Support Services.

The result is a structurally sound building that has been significantly improved, surpassing the client’s expectations. The high-quality workmanship and attention to detail have truly transformed the building, making it even better than before.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Stadium Support Services and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Our swimming pool building was heavily damaged in an arson attack, leaving the end section of our swimming pool in critical condition. Stadium Support Services were engaged to manage all aspects of the project and we couldn’t have been in better hands.

The team not only repaired the damage caused by the fire, but they also took the opportunity to upgrade our changing facilities. They were able to complete the project within three weeks, despite the challenges they faced during the repair process.

What impressed me the most was their attention to detail and commitment to ensuring that the work was done to the highest standard. The result is a beautiful new wooden building, along with a modern and functional changing area facility. I highly recommend Stadium Support Services for any building repair or upgrade needs. Thank you to the team for a job well done!

Monitor System Installation

Installation of monitoring systems to the external façade of buildings for the HS2 project.
HS2 is Britain’s new high-speed rail line being built from London to the North-West, with trains linking the biggest cities in Scotland with Manchester, Birmingham, and London.

It is the largest infrastructure project in Europe, with major civil engineering works underway, and over 350 active sites between the West Midlands and London.

Stadium Support services are proud to support the HS2 project by leveraging our rope access teams to install monitoring systems on the external facade of adjacent site buildings. This allowed our client to monitor the build progress throughout the project.

Challenge

The monitoring system was to be installed at a height of over 35m (10 storeys). The proximity to railway lines and busy building sites surrounding the area meant that MEWP access was not possible. Stadium Support Services provided rope access technicians to assess the area, which comprised narrow gaps, corners, and areas with limited access.

Solution

Stadium Support Services deployed IRATA teams to access the building’s facades during normal working hours and install the monitoring systems. Over 200 monitoring prisms were installed over 8 blocks of residential apartments, as well as some adjacent structures including bridges and retaining walls. The team accessed the work area quickly and easily without the need for a MEWP, resulting in agile and efficient execution of the project that was delivered on time.

Result

The placement of the monitoring system allowed the engineers to assess any structure movement throughout the project. Stadium Support Services are now an approved contractor fully inducted into the HS2 Area East project. We subcontracted to a long-standing client in Geo Instruments, who are working alongside SOCOTEC to deliver the monitoring of the area for the HS2 project tunnelling in Euston, London. We look forward to working with our clients more throughout the project’s long lifespan.

We worked with the rope access team from Stadium Support Services to install monitoring systems at an extremely challenging height, and we couldn’t be more pleased with their work. They were able to access the difficult-to-reach areas quickly and efficiently, and their expertise was evident in their attention to detail and safety. The team worked seamlessly together, and their professionalism and dedication to the task were evident throughout the project.

Corner Lounge Fit-Out

Brand new hospitality destination for Football fans at Loftus Road Stadium.

Putting supporters at the heart of the atmosphere of home games, with entry-level hospitality, the new Corner Lounge at QPR home ground Loftus Road Stadium allows guests to fully absorb the excitement prior to kick-off. Bringing the supporters closer to the action, the Corner Lounge upgrades the matchday experience with an exclusive bar space overlooking the W12 pitch, with hot food and beverages available 90 minutes before kick-off.

Challenge

Tasked with developing and producing a new concept space within the Loftus Road Stadium, the team at Stadium Support Service put forward plans to create a revenue-generating commercial hospitality area for QPR. Situated in the corner of the School End and West Paddock, the designated space comprised two large, underutilised rooms needing significant reconfiguring, and refurbishment.

The Solution

Together with the facilities team at QPR, a new layout was designed and mutually agreed upon. Two large, undeveloped rooms were to be transformed into an immersive lounge space, allowing fans to truly get close to the action on matchdays.

Kickstarting the project with the demolition and removal of multiple walls to open out the space, further walls were constructed to create the new required layout.  Extensive work was carried out to create new ceilings, comprising a grid lighting system and LED lights, while ensuring the new area was fully compliant with all building and safety regulations. The full area was fitted with a new electrical system with multiple power points throughout to ensure till installations were seamlessly powered. Safety fire doors were fitted, incorporating new access routes.

Designed to accommodate a large hospitality area, a high-end bar was installed to serve drinks to guests. The space was then decorated throughout, with the accent team colours incorporated with QPR branding.

Result

A large versatile hospitality space with great views of the pitch for fans to enjoy whilst also providing another revenue stream for the club.

A challenging project from the offset, Stadium Support Services once again brought their years of expertise and experience to produce a fantastic new Lounge space for the QPR guests to enjoy. Not only did they deliver the renovation within a very tight timeframe, but the quality and finish from the team were, as always, exemplary. A new concept for Loftus Road, we are excited to offer fans the opportunity to enjoy a truly immersive experience for the home games. A brand-new offering that enables the club venue to continue to go from strength to strength.
