Burham Water Treatment Centre Welfare Area Development

In partnership with Equans FM and their client Southern Water, Stadium Support Services were commissioned to develop and upgrade the staff welfare facilities at the Burham Water Treatment Centre.

As part of their commitment to the welfare of their workforce, Southern Water made a significant and widescale investment to develop and upgrade the welfare facilities across their sites.

Led by Equans, the project is set to be rolled out nationwide with Stadium Support Services as a lead delivery partner.

Challenge

With a short operational window to access and complete the works, the Stadium Support Services team only had 10 days to fully complete the works.

With multiple challenges surrounding old pipework that was no longer fit for purpose, a brand new water system was required to ensure latest regulations were adhered to. The pipework would accommodate a mains-fed shower system, new kitchen appliances, and the installation of water-saving devices across all areas.

Solution

Plans were mutually agreed with the onsite client, with all critical components plotted within a GANTT chart to ensure timely delivery. Existing infrastructure was removed, with a large team deployed each day for 10 days to ensure the build was completed to time, and to plan.

Result

Within the Burham site, the main staff areas were upgraded to meet the specific needs of the users within today’s operational capacity.

Split into two sections, the areas house a new open-plan kitchen, a contemporary bathroom, and the installation of new toilets. Completed within the planned time frame to a very high standard, resulting in a very happy workforce and satisfied clients.
