Twickenham Stadium

I have been in position as Venue Technical Manager at Twickenham Stadium for nearly 10 years and have used Stadium Support Services throughout my time working for the RFU. I can say without any hesitation that Stadium Support Services have become an invaluable contractor to work in partnership with and have on numerous occasions gone above and beyond expectations to deliver successful jobs. On many occasions these jobs will have been allocated to them with extremely tight timescales.

There are few contractors that I trust to deliver jobs with minimal need for my management input, but I know that if I give their team a task to complete that it will be completed on time, on budget and with minimal disruption to the business. One of the main points of difference that sets Stadium Support Services apart from other contractors that are used at Twickenham Stadium is there vast understanding of the FM industry. Thankfully the team are highly tuned into the needs of the business and always plan their work with a view to minimise disruption to the stadium and maintain event continuity.

Another contribution worthy of note is the commitment that Stadium Support Services showed in the build-up to and the delivery of the Rugby World Cup 2015. Twickenham hosted ten matches for the Rugby World cup including the opening ceremony the semi-finalsĀ and the World Cup Final. We had over 870,000 spectators and visitors attending the Stadium and the localised fan zones. Stadium Support Services played a key part in the delivery of the world cup overlay and several other support functions to our in-house and contracted service delivery.

ER2015 who were the company set up by the RFU to manage the world cup delivery of 2015 also recognised Stadium Support Services contribution to the success of the tournament and awarded them the contractor of the tournament award.

The last point that I will make about Stadium Support Services is there can do attitude. I have come across many contractors with a can do attitude and in many cases this means agreeing to do things that they cannot deliver upon. Thankfully I can say that in my 6 years of working with Stadium Support Services, any task that I have asked them to deliver they have done so on time and exceeded expectations.

I have no hesitation in recommending the use of Stadium Support Services to any other business be it in the sports and events industry, or indeed any other facilities operations.
