Verticulture – Innovative Living Wall Management

Introducing Verticulture, our new service dedicated to the care and maintenance of living walls by expert rope access technicians.

Living walls are rapidly gaining popularity across the UK, transforming buildings into greener areas that improve air quality, absorb noise, enhance well-being and boost biodiversity. However, maintaining them can be challenging, especially when it comes to accessing them without damaging plants or disrupting public spaces.

Verticulture combines “vertical” and “horticulture” to provide an eco-friendly solution for maintaining living walls. Our rope access technicians, trained in horticulture, can safely and efficiently reach even the most challenging areas without the need for heavy machinery, scaffolding, or bulky equipment. This reduces environmental impact, minimises disruption to tenants and the public and keeps costs lower for our clients

“Living walls are gaining momentum in the UK, and we’re committed to maintaining them in an environmentally friendly way. Our approach, combining expert horticultural care with rope access, ensures these ecosystems thrive while keeping disruption and costs low.”

Daniel Scott, Head of Verticulture

Ground Maintenance – Strawberry Hill House

Pitch Perfect

Stadium Support Services support a number of charities through the supply of labour free of charge during periods when the company has spare capacity to do so.

The Challenge

Stadium Support Services was approached by the trustees of a small non profit multi sports organisation to temporarily assist them with the supply of ground staff following the departure of their previous contractor and during a transition period whilst a new in-house provision could take shape.

The Solution

Using the experience and guidance of world renowned grounds man Keith Kent with whom Stadium Support Services supplies match day and ongoing ground support staff to mow, divot and assist in all other field preparation and maintenance tasks at Twickenham Stadium,  Stadium Support Services was able to loan a member of ground support staff to undertake the daily tasks required to maintain the  charities facilities, providing sufficient time for the charities trustees to undertake an effective recruitment drive to find a permanent solution.

The Outcome

Stadium Support Services was able to provide a short term cost effective solution to the charity whilst utilising the knowledge of a highly experience grounds man.  Collectively our solution ensured the maximum support and benefit was realised and the ground was maintained to the charities specification.

As stadium specialists, we fully understand the importance of delivering projects on time within a live venue.
